After thinking a lot whether I should take a shuttle or TICA bus, I chose Shuttle to go to LEON, Nicaragua directly from El Tunco. I bought a TICA bus ticket before, so I had to throw away the ticket.

散々迷ってバスチケット無駄にしてシャトルでエルツンコからニカラグアのレオンに直行することにしました。

It was very comfortable ride with AC and wifi. I watched Japanese TV drama “Terrace House” on the way.

It was only $45, I highly recommend travel surfers to take a shuttle instead of TICA bus. You do not need to go to San Salvador nor Managua. It sounded too cheap to me, given that gas is not cheap in central america($4.8/gallon in El Salvador), with only 5 people in the van = $250 revenue and it was 10 hours ride.

But Driver said he will sleep only for 5 hours and then drive back to Antigua for 16 hours…. it seems too dangerous hope he can get good tips and this slavery work shift will change soon.

I did not book hostel ahead of the time as I heard there are tons of hostel in Leon.

Border of Honduras, I was bit nervous for infamous Highest murder rate country.

たったの$45　中米トリップするサーファーには圧倒的にTICA BUSよりこっちがおススメ　サンサルバドルもマナグアも行く必要無し　１０時間移動して、５人しか乗っていないから$250 のみの売上、ガスは中米は決して安くない　エルサルバドルでGallon US$4.80とかだったと思う。 いくらなんでも安すぎだろと思いましたがドライバーのジェイソンさんはこの後　５時間だけ寝てまたアンティグアまで１６時間ドライブをするそうです。　危ないよー。こういう所にしわ寄せがいってるのかな。

レオンにホステルはたくさんあるという事だったので宿も何もとらずにとりあえずいってみることに

But it turned out to be very peaceful along the way, so I assume that only in city it is dangerous.

通過する分には平穏そのもの。都市部分が極端に治安が悪いのかなぁと想像してみる。

After check-in, welcome beer in Nicaragua, It was ice cold. After long ride, in tropical weather, it tastes so good. Freezing beer filtered through sweaty my body.

落ちついたのでとりあえず一杯　キンキンに冷えていて美味しかった。疲れたカラダにしみわたる。

I came across Sofie at hostel, I met her in El Tunco. She was biking and camping across Central America. A girl camping in Central America solo sounds super-crazy to me, just wish her safe travel.

エルツンコで会ったソフィーとホステルで偶然再会　彼女も自転車で中米　縦断中　キャンプしまくっているらしいが女子一人で中米でキャンプってこっちが心配になります。

I wanted to go to POPOYO but I could not find how to do it on the internet when I was in El Salvador.

I found other japanese surfer blog, but it was really hardcore, he took chicken bus and ended up crossing the river on foot with all his luggage.

After asking around in Leon,I was told There is a shuttle service from San Juan Del Sur to POPOYO. I could not find direct shuttle from Leon to POPOYO.

As I had to wait for another day to take a shuttle and got some time.
I went to local barber shop and got $1(30 coldover) hair cut, it was the cheapest ever!

ポポヨに行きたかったわけですが、行き方がエルサルバドルにいるときはググっても良くわかりませんでした。日本人の過去ブログ　タカツグ　世界一周　サーフトリップ　を見ると、壮絶な移動の様子が……　川を渡るとか本当に自分には無理です…..

結局レオン現地について色々聞いてみるとSan Juan Del Surにまずはシャトルで行ってそこからシャトルがポポヨに出ているということでした。エルサルバドルでLeonから直接出ているという聞いたシャトルについては見つけれませんでした。

時間があったのでローカルな人達しかいないところで髪きってみた

I liked this logo design, I saw some good surfers wearing this logo T shirt in Mexico.

I bought tanktop and cap. Staff told me the story of how it started, a brazilian guy moved here and started from surf school on the beach and expanded to shop as volunteer keep joining and helping design,operation and everything. so basically it is volunteer/non-profit project. It is about 10 meter from hostel VIAVIA.

I love this simple design.

タンクトップとキャップ買いました。　なんでもブラジリアンが移住してサーフスクールから始まって、ボランティアの人達がどんどんデザインして現在はショップも運営されているということでした。VIAVIAという宿泊しているホステルから１０メートル位のところにあります。

I will move to Sun Juan Del Sur by shuttle tomorrow, I plan to stay there for short time and off to POPOYO.

For the below video, a fried of mine Byron is supposedly surfing(but I could not tell which one was him). This POPOYO outer reef is super-dangerous and only crazy big wave surfer surf this insane bomb. It looks too much for me and you might want 7ft gun board to tame this monster.

因に下の動画で友人のバイロンがサーフィンしているそうです。（どれかわからなかっった）このポポヨアウターリーフは危険すぎてほとんど行く人いないそうですが　噂に勝るアルマゲドン級のブレイクですね。自分にはとてもじゃないけど無理そう。ガン必須な波ですね。
