After Rio Nexpa, We headed down to Puert Escondido. Again, it made me realize how huge mexico is by driving down. It tool 2 days for us to drive down from Rio Nexpa to Puesrt Escondido.
Day one, arrived at Zihujahanejo where the movie, Shawshank Redemption final scene was filmed. it feels like being a Red, main-sub character in the movie.
さてRIO NEXPAを離れた後は、一気にPuert Escondido（プエルトエスコンディード）を目指します。
しかしメキシコ国土がものすごく広い。RIO NEXPAから結局２日間かかりました。
１日目Zihujahanejo ショーシャンクの空にのラストシーンの舞台になった場所までいって一泊 ショーシャンクの空にラストシーンの場所 レッドになった気分

On the way to Puert Escondido, we stopped at La Bonita. It was beautiful location and no was in the water. You need SUV to drive up there as road to the point is bumpy dirt road. We did not surf there but I regret bit later.
途中ホルヘさんに教えてもらったLA BONITAというシークレットポイントに寄りましたが入水せず。これは後で入水しとけば良かったかなと少し後悔 最高に綺麗なポイントです。勿論誰もいないし完全貸切。オフロードなのでSUV必須。最後崖を下ってたどりつきます。

Day 2, We drove 8 hours to small beach town after passing Acapluco and spent a night there.
Day 3, finally We arrived Puert Escondido. We detoured a bit to check out Chucawa on the way. But as I was told at Rio Nexpa, it was not breaking well because of bad sand bar situation so we did not surf there and kept driving to Puert Escondido. Yet, It was great location with cliff so it’s worth checking it out.

３日目ようやくPuert Escondidoに到着 到着前にChucawa に寄り道しましたがRIO NEXPAで聞いていた通り地形が昨年の秋以降悪くなってしまい綺麗に割れていなかったので入水せず通過
ロケーションはすごかった 崖をのぼったりするので結構しんどい
First, we were looking for hostel to stay in La Punta. I came across a guy in front of hostel, as soon as he found out I can not speak spanish, he started speaking in Japanese. That guy, Ruiz used to be living in Japan, Shonan which is my home surf point back home! what a surprise! He loves big waves and has gun boards. We decided to stay here for 3 nights.
LA PUNTAで宿を探し始めて一軒目でピザ屋の上にあるホステルを発見 スペイン語ができないのがわかるとなんと日本語で話かけてきた。RUIZ なんと元湘南ローカルだそうです。ビッグウェーブが好きでやっぱり持ち板はガンばかりらしい。とりあえず３泊ほどここに宿泊。
After 3 nights, we moved to Hotel Pako LOLO in front of Zicatela beach. It is convenient location facing main street. Private room from 250 – 300 peso (about $25). Dormitory was 100 peso. Yes, OXACA is less expensive than north mexico.
途中から宿をかえてメインのZicatela beachの前にあるHOTEL PAKO LOLOに移動しました。大通りにあり便利です。個室250ペソから自分の部屋は300ペソ(２５００円くらい）でした。ドミは100ペソ 流石OXACA州 安い！
It got patio, cozy, easy to get together and party.
I wrote messages on the board and created video message for my friends’ wedding in Japan.

Zicatela Beach is known for big wave surfing and big barrels. But during my time, It was not breaking well. Most of the time it was shore break dumper, no space to ride. It did not look fun so I did not surf there. The below video, my friend, Paul making Puert Escondido barrel with air drop. In video, it looks normal good wave, but when actually you look at that wave in person, it is super heavy wave like no other. On the day we moved to Zicatela, I heard a guy at hostel got smashed to the beach by shore break and injured, ended up going to hospital by ambulance. In summer, July and August, I can see that swell will build up, and wave will get giant like in surf movie.
Zicatela Beachがメインのビーチで所謂ビデオでみるビッグウェーブが炸裂する場所なのですが、ウネリが足りないのかかなりのダンパーショアブレイク サイズが小さかったので、全然入れるけれど面白くはなさそう。
ということで結局Zicatelaでは入水しなかった。（一回くらい記念入水しとけば良かったかな）
かといって下のポールの動画のようなライディングは厳しいが 映像だと結構普通の大きな波に見えますが実際ポイントを見ると割れ方がスーパーヘビー 実際にここに移動した日にホステルの人が打ち上げられて救急車で搬送されたそうです。危ないー。夏はとんでもない事になるんだろうなと予想。
Most of the time, I surfed at LA BARRA, 10 minutes drive from our hostel. La Punta was next to Zicatela and close from the hostel, and it was easy left. But it was way too crowded to surf.
When I surfed at LA BARRA, I almost snapped the board in half at inside barrel section. I brought it to famous local surboard factory ,ODY Board for ding repair. It was 300peso($24) and Staffs were friendly and reliable.
ほとんどLA BARRAという車で１０分くらいのところでサーフィンしてました。
Zicatelaの隣のLA PUNTAはイージーに割れてロングライドできるレフトで楽しいんだけど、混みすぎてて無法地帯だったので２回くらいしか入らなかった。
LA BARRAでこの後インサイドまで乗っていって最後ダンパーバレルセクションで見事に板が折れかけました。ding repairに関してはここの地元ではODY Boardという有名なファクトリーがあるということだったのでそこにだしました。３００ペソ ２４００円くらい。スタッフも信頼できる感じでした。
Ross was out of the water for a couple days as we got smashed to the bottom at inside section.
インサイドまで乗っていってボトムに叩き付けられて、肩を怪我して、サーフィンできないで休むROSS 自分もこうならなくて良かった。
those days, I was thinking about buying second surfboard and ODY was one of the options. Then, I got message from Adam that he was selling his Almerrick 5.10 before going back to Canada. I replied in 10 seconds and decided to meet up with him in Guajarahara. (He was in Pasquaresque that time)
Then I made a plan to drive up to Guajarahara in One Day!! A day before leaving Puert Escondido, 2 beautiful swedish girls, Frida and Evelina decided to join us as we are heading north too. On the way, many guys were trying to catch their attentions, even when I was with them.
バックアップボードがほしくてODY BOARDを買うか迷ってた所にパスクアレスにいるアダムからfacebookで「板買う気ある？」というメッセージが来たので、グアダラハラで待ち合わせして買う事に。
そしてPuert EscondidoからGuajaraharaまで1泊でいくという強行スケジュールを敢行する事に。直前になってスウェーデン人のガールズ２人 フリンダとエビリーナが一緒にいきたいということだったのでジョイン。一緒にいるととにかく色んな男が寄ってくる。美人も大変だ。

Day one, we left Puert Escondido 6 in the morning, drove 13 hours straight to Mexico City. I was exhausted but could find hostel with vacancy, It was fully booked everywhere. After hours of hostel searching, we found a hotel and crashed into bed.
Day2, We tried to drive up to Guajarahara and used Google Map for navigation. Then it always direct us to toll road which you need an electronic equipment mounted to go through the gate. Because of that, We got lost and wasted 2 hours. After all, it took 6 hours to Guajarahara.
I met Adam at hostel and got Almerrick T-Low 5.10 including fin,deckpad and leash. It was only $360, Thank you, Adam!!
FYI,Adam bought this board at Almerrick factory in Santa Barbra. It should be the cheapest way to buy board before heading to Central America.
４人でまずはメキシコシティを目指す事に１３時間運転の後にメキシコシティに到着くたくただったがホステルが全て満室で結局ホテル泊。
２日目グアダラハラに移動しようとGoogle MAPに頼って移動しようとすると、所謂ETCみたいなシステムを装着している車しか通れない有料道路がルートに含まれていて、さんざん迷ったあげく２時間くらい無駄にして、６時間以上かかってグアダラハラに到着。
アダムと再会をはたし、ボードをゲット。アルメリックT LOW 5-10 フィンはフューチャーフィン デッキパッド、リーシュ、フィン込みでUS$360。ありがとうアダム！
因にカリフォルニアのサンタバーバラのアルメリックのファクトリーで買ったものだそうで、中米トリップするサーファーはここで板買って持っていくのが一番節約になるかも。

Fast take-off, little bit overfloat but this board enable you make a quick turn in pocket. You can draw lines on face in different way from classic shortboard. I think this will be my main board, especially in Japan. It will be perfect for waist to double overhead. Adam was pulling into double overhead barrel at La Ticla with this board.
テイクオフ早い、旋回性能もものすごく高いです。オーバーフロート（浮力がありすぎる状態）ですがドルフィンできるし、ターンも普通の板ではならない軌道になって面白いです。日本の小波だと最高な気がする。
日本に帰ったらメインボードになる予感。まだオーバーヘッドの波では乗ってないけど、全然問題ないかと。 アダムはこれでLa Ticlaでダブルのバレル ガンガンゲットしていました。

Day 3, We headed to Sayulita from Guajarahara.
We drove more than 3500km, about 2000 miles in 3 days.
Then I came back to home sweet home, hostel in Sayulita. But it was SEMANA SANTA, holidays, every hostel jacked up the pricing. I stayed at hotel but it was $60, way over my budget. Rental car cost $2000, more than expected, HERTZ applied different pricing when I extended the contract. I should have booked it for a month in the beginning.
そして翌日GuajaraharaからSayulitaへ。
Puert EscondidoからSayulitaまでで片道1500km以上、往復でいったら多分3500Km以上運転してると思う。
そして懐かしのHostelへと帰ってきたわけでした。帰ってきたらSEMANA SANTAという復活祭でありとあらゆる値段があがっているし混んでいるー。 ホテルもみつけたけど一泊６０００円以上 高くて泣きそうです。 レンタルカーも延長したら、全然違う料金適応されて 涙。結局２０万円位かかった メキシコのHERTZは延長する時にこっそりレートかえられてて（白目） 最初からエクスペディアで長めに予約しておくべきだった ORZ。
サーファーであれば一緒にいく人はいくらでもみつかるのでこれから中米トリップ計画している人はカリフォルニアで車を買って行く事をお勧めします。
【ジープ パトリオット JEEP PATRIOT Review】
しかし今回ジープ パトリオットに１ヶ月乗ってみてかなり愛着わきました。２WDなので砂の上の走行には多少問題あるけど道路事情の良い日本でサーフィンする分には全く問題ないのではないかと。X3と違って汚れても気にならないし、走行性能は劣るけど乗り心地も良かったです。逆に4リッターあるチェロキーとかはかなり日本でのサーファー車としてはオーバースペックで燃費悪すぎかと。
Next, I will fly to El Salvador. We partied on my last day in Mexico and said good bye to Frida and Evelina.
そしていよいよメキシコに別れを告げて次はエルサルバドルを目指します！
メキシコ最後の夜はパーティでした。イベリーナとフリーダともここでお別れ。
