Biarritz reunion and Lafitenia ビアリッツで再会そしてラフィテーニア

The man is back!@Hossegor

I got a message on FB when I was in Hossegor from Thomas who I made friend with in El salvador. He happened to be in Biarritz for short surf trip so we met again in Biarritz and surf together at Biarritz.

It was just 40 minutes drive from Hossegor.

It was my birthday and we went down to Burger shop to celebrate it.

Unfortunately he did not have much time left so we saw him off at the airport next day.

ホセゴーにいる時にFBでエルサルバドルで友達になったトーマスから連絡をもらい、偶然短期のサーフトリップでビアリッツにいることを知り再会することに。

ビアリッツはホセゴーから車で４０分くらい。ビアリッツにて再会して一緒にサーフすることに。

この日はハンバーガーショップでお祝いしてもらいました。

残念ながらトーマスは翌日にスイスに帰ることに、空港でトーマスを見送りその後一人でラフィテーニアに向かうことに。

double overhead sets back to back. ダブルオーバーのセットが連発で入ってきます。

After that, I headed down to Lafitenia by myself, it was massive, easily double overhead so I used my 6.0 Mayhem Whiplash X Taj, many people were using guns to ride that monster. I found several guys in the water broke their leash and ended up swimming back to the shore.

When big sets roll in I felt myself super-vulnerable like a floating leaf on the water. It sucks up the water so strong and you feel your paddle power is nothing in front of the power of mother nature.

Once you make a take off, blank big canvas will welcome you to draw any lines you like. It will be 200+ meter if you ride all the way to the shore.

It was one of the best session in Europe.

この日はとんでもなく大きく　ダブルオーバー、ガンボード持った猛者が集結していました。リーシュが切れてうち上がってた人も多かった。

今回のヨーロッパセッションの中ではベストセッションのひとつ、セットが来ると水の吸い上げが激しすぎて、自分が木の葉くらいの弱い存在に感じられます。テイクオフの後は巨大なショルダーがキャンバスのように広がり好きなラインをお好みのままにといった感じ。岸までいけば２００メートル以上は乗れると思います。

Sleeping in car life style for a month now.　寝るときの車内の様子こんな感じではや一ヶ月

At night, I got totally naked to use the shower on the beach after making sure no one is around. It worked out quite well. So I had a good sleep in a car.

And next day, I surfed there again and met a boy around 12 who I met in Bali Kuta Reef. That day was cleaner face and still hold a good size so it was quite fun too.

I kept coming back to Lafitenia couple times later during my time in France as I love the wave here.

Next I will move to Barcelona, Spain.

夜は誰もいないのも見計らって、ビーチのシャワーで全裸シャワー　日本だったら逮捕ものです。すっきりしてぐっすり眠れました。

翌日も同じポイントで入ってたらバリのクタリーフで出会った１２歳くらいの少年と偶然　ポイントで再会。この日も人は多かったものの若干サイズも落ち着いてかなり良いコンディション　楽しかったです。

波が良すぎて忘れられなかったので、この後もフランス滞在中に２、３回ラフィテーニアには戻ってきました。

次はバルセロナ、スペインに移動します。
