I was not sure how I drive down to Portugal whether I should go through Mundaka or Barcelona.
This time I chose to chill and do a sightseeing so I drove down to Barcelona. It came up to my mind after checking a messy wave in Biarritz.
Then I drove 7 hours straight to Barcelona from Biarritz and had a craving for Japanese food as I was trying to live cheap in france and got tired of cheap bread, cheese and ham. As a matter of fact, I lost weight while in france and got sick one time too. sleeping in car and getting sick combo is not much fun for traveler.
今回のヨーロッパトリップは詳細な計画を決めず６−８週間くらいでポルトガルまで下るということ以外特に予定はたてていませんでした。
でフランスも１ヶ月以上いるのでそろそろ移動かなぁと思っていたところで、ビアリッツの波がオンショアでいまいちだったので、急に思い立ちバルセロナに行く事にしました。 正直 出発１０分前まで何も考えていなかったけど、暖かいところに行きたいと思い ムンダカではなくバルセロナに向かうことに。
一気に７時間以上ぶっとおしで運転してビアリッツからバルセロナに到着。フランスでは食費を節約するために、格安スーパーでパンとチーズとハムに激安ワインという方法でしのいでいたので体重が落ちてかなり痩せました。 おもけに体調を崩してしまった日もあって、車中泊＋体調不良はかなりきつかったです。

Then, Ramen AKA Japanese soul food came up to my mind first.
I checked the internet and found one famous ramen shop in Barcelona and it turned out to be the best ramen in this trip.
There was already a queue in front of the shop when I arrive there around 8PM. I ordered Miso Ramen, Gyoza(dumpling), and Rice ball.
Those food quality was surprisingly good. I could not stop eating and ended up ordering that much. Owner is a nice Japanese guy about the same age as me, I had a chance to have a small chat with him.
Also I found a good rest area on highway to sleep.
It was just before hitting Barcelona, that place got shower, wifi and restaurant.
Next morning, I did a bit of sightseeing, checked Sagrada Familia and city center area. Then I went to the beach just to chill and check out nudists but found people with surfboard.
というわけで今回もお決まりのラーメンを食べたいという気持ちがムクムクと沸き上がり、ネットで検索して評判のラーメン屋 ヒロ というお店に行く事にしました。
８時過ぎに店に着くと予想通りの行列ができていました。
お腹が減っていたのと久々にまともなご飯ということで
みそラーメン＋餃子＋おにぎり等を頼みました 食べまくり。
クオリティはとても高く、日本で食べてもすごく美味しいと思います。今回のトリップでは自分の中ではナンバー１ ラーメンにランク付けされました。
今回のトリップに限らずアメリカ在住時を含んでも、今までいった海外ラーメンの中で一位です。
そしてその後はバルセロナにくる途中に見つけた、ハイウェイのレストエリアまで戻って就寝 このレストエリアはシャワー wifi レストランも付いていてとても過ごしやすかったです。
翌朝起きて市内中心部を観光して、サクラダファミリアをチェックし噂のヌーディストビーチを見るためにバルセロネータに移動
と思ったところ、なんとサーフボードを抱えて歩いている人たちを発見。そうですサーフショップもあり、ここバルセロナでは地中海という内海ですがサーフィンができるのです。地中海にストームが来たときには１０ftになることもあるのだとか。

バルセロネータでは夜でもサーフィンできるくらい明るいです。
Yes, it is Barceloneta main beach, Mediterranean sea, yet you can still surf.
There was a parking underground near main beach but I was bit nervous about leaving all my stuff in the car and going surfing as I never want to go through that nightmare again.
Then, I found 5 star hotel W hotel at the end of the beach and used that parking lot for surfing. pricing was about the same as underground parking and it got many CCTV, looked a lot safer so I parked there and surf.
Waves were small, crumbling wave but weather was sunny and water was warm, some people were surfing in boardshorts in November! love this sunny and dry weather!
ビーチの向いの道路の地下に公共駐車場があるのですが、自分の荷物を全て車の中に置いてサーフィンに行くのは危険に感じたので、同じビーチの南側の端にある５スターホテル W ホテルの駐車場を使うことにしました。 料金は同じくらいで、監視カメラもたくさんあり安全そうだったのでこっちにしました。
波はタラタラな日本のようなビーチブレイクでしたが、天気は良く気温もとても暖かく 中には海パンでサーフィンしている人も １１月ですよ！ 最高の気候！楽しめました。
And in front of surf break, I found around 10-20 nudiests there. It was quite a surprise for me as I expected nudiest beach to be really quiet and remote place but it was the Barceloneta, the busiest beach in Barcelona with lots of people walking by.
After surf, I walked around city center and had some tapas, then went to Ramen Hiro again.This time, I found a parking lot which is for free between 9PM-8AM on the same block as Ramen Hiro so I drink a lot and crashed in the car. Next morning, a guy on tow truck knock on the window and woke me up as it was already 9AM!! close call!
Next, I will go further down along the southern coast of Spain to Portugal!
そしてヌーディストビーチと聞くと人のいない静かなビーチを想像していたのですが、ここではサーフブレイクの目の前、多くの人が行き交う人で賑わうビーチに普通にヌーディストの方々が日光浴しています。おったまげた。
そして夜はタパス食べ歩きして後に締めで、またしてもラーメン屋 ヒロへ すぐ近くの駐車場が夜９時ー朝８時まで駐車可能だったのでしこたま飲んでそのまま爆睡。朝９時近くまで爆睡してしまい、レッカー車のおじさんに起こされるハプニング。
次は南スペインの海岸沿いを南下しながらポルトガルに向かいます！
