One night layover at Taipei
I took a flight to Bali via Taipei, one night layover at the airport. My board bag went straight to Bali so I had to just sleep on the floor without my boadbag AKA sleeping bag. In Taipei Airport, it was freezing with too much AC. Star Alliance Lounge was unfortunately closed between 11:30PM to 5AM in the morning. Transit hotel was over my budget.
台湾経由でバリへ、トランジットホテルは一番高い部屋しかあいてなかったので空港の床で寝ました。。冷房ききすぎてめちゃくちゃ寒かった ラウンジは夜１１時３０分から５時までクローズ こちらが寝床、ボードバックなしでごろ寝 辛かった。
朝になってラウンジでシャワー 綺麗でした。

Accommodation in Bali
I am staying at Samudora Homestay near Kuta Reef boat place. You can go to Kuta Reef, Middle, Second, Airport Left, Right and Torotoro from this boat place.
It is super convenient for surfers as it is 3 minutes walk from Kuta Reef boat place, right in front of huge shopping mall “Lippo Shopping mall” and a minute walk from main street. When you book from booking.com it is $35/day, but of course when you stay there more than a week you can get a discount to $25/day.
バリはクタリーフの近くのSamudra Homestayに滞在しています。day/$35でしたが１週間ステイするということで$25/day including breakfast, AC,TV付 クタリーフで毎日サーフィン歩いて３分でビーチのボート乗り場に行け、目の前にはショッピングモールそしてメインストリートからもすぐのためかなり便利です。最初もっと安いところ探そうと思ってたけど移動するのが面倒になった笑。 このボート乗り場からAirport Left,Right, second, middle, Kuta Reef,Torotoro 全部行けます。

Waves at Kuta Reef
Everyday 5 star rating by magic seaweed, I got one good backside barrel(could’ve gone deeper). Only first week I have been doing 2 rounds a day. But from 2nd week, I slowed down to only one round a day style and read some books/comics on iPad.
最初の数日だけは毎日２ラウンドしてましたが、ここのところは毎日１ラウンドのみ。前回来たときは気付かなかったけど、中米のトリップと比べるとバリは大都会で何でも簡単に手に入るので午後はIpadで電子書籍読んだりしてまったりと過ごしています。朝もそれほど早起きせず。
波は来てから毎日バッチリだったので、バックサイドのバレル？も一本ゲットできました、入り方が浅かったけど。スピードが凄かった。
オフショアが強いものの、このとおり毎日５スター すごすぎ
やっぱり１ヶ月オーバーヘッドのリーフブレイクでサーフィンしてなかったらバリに来て最初全然波に乗れていなく、またクタリーフのポジションの取り方もわからなくてセクションをクリアできなくて捕まる事も多く悲しかった。
そしてスモールな日に油断してたらこの通り。泣きました。ding repairは約５０００円 完全に裏側まで切れてしまっててこれまでで最悪のding. XFCがぁー。
On a small day, I always got a ding but this time is definitely the worst! alsmot snapped it in half. Oh my lovely XFC!!!
そいてスクーターを借りて機動力アップ rented a scooter for $3/day for a week to move around.
と思ったら早速足挟んだ 痛杉 then got my leg sandwiched between scooter and curb. I am no good at driving scooter especially with Bali super-busy traffic.
早くもバリに来て約２週間 今日は風が強くてグシャグシャなコンディションだったのでLay Day（サーフィンしない日）です。
Bali Visa Extension【バリでビザ更新】
When you get VOA(Visa on arrival) at the airport, it is valid for only 30days. And this time I plan to stay around 40days so I needed to extend the visa. Immigration office location on google map was not accurate. the map below shows the exact location. If it was not for the below blog entry(Japanese only), I could not have found the office.
バリは通常のVOA(Visa On Arrival)だと３０日しか滞在できないため今回１ヶ月半程度いるため延長手続きが必要。
ようやくイミグレーションのオフィスの場所もわかり今日手続きしてきました。 後２回オフィスにいかなきゃだけど。下記のブログエントリがなかったらオフィスにたどり着けなかった。。なぜかgoogle mapでimmigration officeで検索すると違うアドレスが出てくる。

そしてこの通り取りにくる時間とかも指定されている面倒
It is easy but troublesome since you need to visit the office 3 times at least as you have to
1 apply visa extension
2 pay for visa fees
3 and finally receive passport with extended visa
I might move down to Uluwatu once I finish visa extension.
ビザの更新が完了したらウルワツ方面に数日移動するつもり。少しづつバリが楽しくなってきています。
