My favorite surf movie “Castle in the sky” Ice land part starts from 1:30  大好きなサーフムービー

I decided to take a flight to London from Lisbon and stay at TK house for 2 days and then off to Iceland. But Again, Peugeot Open Europe service sucks. First, they started asking for police report that I already sent to cover my broken window payment , so I sent scanned data of police report again to them. And then, they asked me for original copy not scanned data. I explained the situation over and over that one of your staff said they will proceed refunding with that evidence, and then finally they accepted scanned data.

Second, after I told assistance center the date of car return, they did not send me a location of their return center.  As Pickup location in Paris was not on the premises of airport, I assumed it should be the same(which means not in the airport) for Lisbon airport car return center so I needed the exact location. I checked the website but their website does not show the exact location of return center so I called them and send emails countless time and finally get an instruction. Return location did not have any signs or anything to notice. But this time, there was a staff standing outside and asked me if I was the one to return a car. What a Relief! If It was not for him, I would not have found the location even if I parked right in front of this building.

まずはリスボンからロンドンでクイックストップ　TKの家に一泊お世話になり、今回はサーフボードを置いて久々に身軽に旅をすることに　中耳炎の問題もあるのでサーフィンはできればやる　というスタンス。ところがまたしてもプジョーオープンヨーロッパに関してトラブル。とっくの間に窓を割られた件について警察のレポートなどを提出していたにもかかわらず、それが伝わっていないのか再度提出しろなどと言ってくるしかも今回はスキャンデータではダメで原本を郵送しろとのこと、さんざんきれて　既に提出済みだし前回の担当者はスキャンデータで良いと言っていたと説明してようやく納得してくれた。もうヘトヘト　そこでさらに今度は車を返す日程を伝えても肝心のリターンセンターの場所がメールしても、電話してもわからない。パリと同じように、空港の敷地内ではないということが容易に想像できたため、ネットで調べるも空港の近くということくらいしかわからない。何度も具体的な場所を聞こうとメールに電話をしても返事をもらえず、さんざん電話してようやくだいたいの場所を教えてもらえた。着いてみると看板も何もないビルでスタッフのおじさんが外にたって待っててくれたからなんとかわかったものの、いなかったら目の前まできても絶対にわからないレベル。もうコリゴリ。

It was 3-4 hours flight to Iceland from London 3-4時間でロンドンからアイスランドに到着！

Famous Blue Lagoon hot spring. All hotels in Reykjavik use hot spring for hot water so you will shower with hot spring water. 有名なブルーラグーンです。温泉　ここだけではなくレイキャビックのホテルは全て蛇口から温泉が出てきます。シャワーも温泉で癒されました。

It is quite simple but this sausage is tasty. シンプルだけどソーセージがプリプリしてて美味しかった。

seriously no need for my money exchange as credit card is accepted everywhere. Yes, even at Toilet ,US$2. お金を両替する必要はありません。どこでもクレジットカードが使えます。そうトイレでも。約２００円

Grilled Cod at cafe, it was the best meal in Iceland. タラのグリル　カフェメシ 異常に美味しくてびっくりした

Iceland microbrew beer, dark beer but easy to drink. In Europe, people drink dark beer in holiday seasons. アイスランド地ビール、ダークビアだったけど飲みやすかった。ヨーロッパではクリスマス時期のホリデーシーズンはダークビアを飲むそうです。

I went to the tour for northern lights couple times, but could not see something like below, was able to see only tiny lights and it was too dark for iphone.何回かオーロラツアーに参加するも写真のようなオーロラはみれず。iphoneでは写真とるのは暗すぎて無理でした。下の写真はサンプル素材です。

They cover their energy 100% by thermal power plant and those plants were built by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries. I wonder why we can not do something like this in Japan as we have many volcano too like Iceland does.

All in all, It was great to see Iceland, but it was quite expensive,probably the most expensive country I’ve been to. As there is almost no option for cheap food but subway in the city center. Any eat out cost above $20.

My only regret was I could not surf there this time. So I put it into the bucket list for the future.

I contacted surf guide but it is $400/day for surf guide!  and I tried to go to surf break by myself rental car but it cost above $120/day or above. And surf forecast/condition were very bad with strong wind. Guide said Usually spring and fall are the best time to surf in Iceland. if you are interested, please contact them. Arctic Surfers

アイスランドでは彼らのエネルギーは１００％地熱発電によってカバーされているということです。そしてプラント（正確にはタービン）は三菱重工製でした。再生可能エネルギーって安定した電力供給できないイメージだったのですが、できるんですね。なんで日本も地熱発電積極利用しないんだろうか。理由知っている人がいたら教えてください。

全体としてはアイスランド行ってみてとても良かったです。ただ物価はこれまで行ったヨーロッパの国と比べてもダントツに高かった。外食は常に２０００円超えたし、安い選択肢がなかったです　泣

唯一の後悔はアイスランドでサーフィンできなかったこと。　サーフガイドにもコンタクトしましたが1日４万円って言われてしまったのと、レンタカー自体も１万２０００円以上したし、コンディションも風が強すぎて全然ダメだったので今回は諦めました。ガイドいわく春と秋が最もアイスランドではコンディションが安定するそうです。興味のある人はこちらからコンタクトどうぞ　Arctic Surfers
