Whiplash X TAJ model

Dimensions 6.2 X 18.88 X 2.38 Volume 28.91

Specification-wise, its got more volume than my previous Simon Andersen XFC 6.2 (Volume 27.5)

First, I was bit worried if I was good enough to ride this board as LOST website says Whiplash X TAJ

“Although not for everyone, this board is relatively easy to ride and is best for younger and fit surfers who are above average, have no problem creating their own speed, and surf regularly in punchy beach or decent quality point breaks and want to surf as critical and radical as possible.”

スペック的には以前のっていたXFC 6.2  のVolume 27.5よりもボリュームがあるのですが、板を触ったときは正直自分のパドル力で乗れるか不安でした。

whiplashのサイトにもこんなことが書いてあるし

”しかしながら誰にでも推奨できるボードではなく、比較的若く、鍛えられた標準以上のサーファーで自分でスピードを作り出すことができ、パンチの効いたビーチブレイクや、クオリティの高いポイントブレイクで頻繁にサーフし、可能な限りクリティカルに乗りたいサーファーに推奨”

But It turned out to be very good board for me to surf good quality waves in Bali. It was really easy to make turns in the pocket of waves and create speeds on shoulder. Also It is easy to take off on beach break and hollow break( I tested this board at Padang Padang and Canggu).

It feels like that it just kept the advantages of my T-low 5.10 and refined to more high-performance board. I think it will be all-rounder for good quality wave from punchy beach break to hollow reef break like Uluwatu. I want to have another 6.0 whiplash x Taj for a smaller wave if possible.

結果的にはかなりイージーでした、まさに流行の板という感じ、スペック以上に浮力があるように感じられるし、テイクオフも思ったより早く、また掘れまくってるブレイクでもばっちりでした(チャングーとパダンパダンでテスト）。6.2という長さを感じさせない位、板が素早くかえりました。今もう一本の板はAlmerick T-LOW 5.10 なのですが、T-lowの良いところを残したままよりハイパフォーマンスにしたような板だと思います。6.0の長さでもう一本ほしいくらい。高いクオリティの波（ビーチブレイクからウルワツのようなリーフブレイクまで）でオールラウンドに使える板だと思います。
